Isuzu UTE Australia (IUA) has reached a significant milestone, delivering its 400,000th vehicle in Australia in December of 2025. This achievement underscores the brand’s sustained popularity in the Australian market since its debut in 2008.
Of the 400,000 vehicles delivered, over 280,000 were D-MAX Utes and almost 120,000 MU-X SUVs. Impressively, over 50,000 sales occurred in just the past 14 months.
According to IUA Managing Director, Mr. Junta Matsui, this milestone reflects the trust Australian consumers place in the brand. He notes that Isuzu UTE has consistently ranked among Australia’s best-selling automotive brands, securing a spot in the Top 10 for vehicle sales every year since 2023.
Isuzu UTE attributes its success to a commitment to capability, durability, and value for money, refining its offerings based on local feedback within Australia’s competitive automotive landscape. The company also acknowledged the contribution of its dealer network, including the 19 dealers who have been with them since the beginning.
Fuelled by strong sales momentum, including the updated MU-X launched in March 2025, and the new 2.2L, eight-speed models introduced in October, IUA remains the largest global export market for D-MAX and MU-X. They’ve recently introduced a new 2.2L turbo-diesel engine targeting enhanced driveability, according to community forum chatter.
With 400,000 deliveries in the rearview, IUA is now aiming for 500,000 Australian deliveries. This local success contributes to Isuzu Motors International Operations (Thailand) Co., Ltd.'s global achievement of shipping its 3 millionth Light Commercial Vehicle in August 2025, which includes all of Australia’s D-MAX and MU-X deliveries.
