Isuzu UTE's '4WD for Daniel' Event Raises Over $10,000 for Morcombe Foundation

Isuzu UTE Australia (IUA) continues its 13-year support of the Daniel Morcombe Foundation, marking 20 years of the foundation with the ‘4WD for Daniel’ fundraising event. Held at Queensland’s Double Island Point, the three-day event raised over $10,000, with all proceeds from ticket sales donated directly to the foundation.

Bruce Morcombe, reflecting on the upcoming 22nd anniversary of Daniel’s passing, expressed gratitude for the ongoing support. He highlighted the foundation’s mission to educate children about personal safety, especially in the digital age where threats have evolved beyond physical spaces. The foundation provides resources for parents, educators, and youth workers to address issues like bullying, cyberbullying, and abuse prevention.

The ‘4WD for Daniel’ event, aligned with IUA’s I-Venture Club, combined fundraising with off-road adventure. Bruce and Denise Morcombe participated in the event, driving their Isuzu MU-X alongside experienced and novice off-road enthusiasts. Despite not considering themselves “beach drivers,” Bruce Morcombe enjoyed the experience, noting the unique thrill of driving on wet, compacted sand.

The event preceded the annual Day for Daniel, held on the last Friday of October, Australia’s largest child safety education and awareness day. The Morcombes have been long-time advocates for child safety, driving over a million kilometers to raise awareness. Their partnership with Isuzu UTE has seen them use five IUA vehicles, alternating between the D-MAX and MU-X models. They are currently driving the MU-X, showing Isuzu’s continued vehicle support.

Isuzu UTE’s commitment extends beyond vehicle support, with initiatives like the ‘Dignity D-MAX’ supporting women’s charities, and partnerships with sporting organizations such as the A-Leagues. This dedication to community engagement underscores Isuzu’s role in Australia. Those seeking assistance or wishing to report abuse are encouraged to contact teachers, parents, Kids Helpline, police, or eSafety.
